1948 Debüt am Stadttheater Steyr, danach an Wiener Kellerbühnen, am Theater in der Josefstadt sowie in Hamburg und Zürich; Kabarettist neben 
[Helmut Qualtinger|Biographien/Qualtinger,_Helmut] und 
[Gerhard Bronner|Biographien/Bronner,_Gerhard] am Kärntnertortheater und 1974-81 am Simpl in Wien; seit 1981 Ensemblemitglied des Theaters in der Josefstadt; populär durch ORF-Serien (unter anderem "Zeitventil", "Die große Glocke", "Erinnern Sie sich noch?", Kabarettsendung "Guglhupf") und "Simpl-Revuen". Regietätigkeit.


Er wurde u.a. mit dem "Goldene Ehrenzeichen für Verdienste um das Land Wien" ausgezeichnet.
