Solari (Solario), Santino, b. Verna near Lugano (Switzerland), 
1576, d. Salzburg, April 10, 1646, architect and sculptor. From 
1612 cathedral planner and architect at the court of the archbishops 
Marcus Sitticus and Paris Lodron in Salzburg, where he was in charge 
of the construction of the cathedral (1614-1628, after changes in the 
draft of V. Scamozzi) as well as all construction activities in the 
monastery. Introduced the North Italian early baroque into Austria; 
buried in St. Peter's cemetery in Salzburg).

fortifications in Salzburg, 1612-1614; Hellbrunn palace, 
1613-1619; Palais Lodron, 1631. - Churches: Franziskuskirche church in 
Wagrain, 1616; Obertauern, 1617; Taxenbach, 1640; Duerrnberg (marble 
portal, 3 chapels).
