Adler founded the literary magazine "Die Provinz" 1924; emigrated to England 1938, British nationality 1951. Author of historical novels (e.g. "Die Templer", 1935; "Botschaft aus Granada", 1937), which bore hidden criticism of the crimes committed by the National Socialists.
