Sonntagberg, Lower Austria, market town in the district of Amstetten, 
alt. 340 m, population 4,288, area 18.41 km%%sup 2/%, Holy 
Trinity pilgrimage centre of supraregional significance, on a hill 
east of the Ybbstal Valley. - Commercial school (private school, 
located in Gleiss); Volkshaus community centres (in 
Boehlerwerk-Bruckbach); iron and steel processing, production of 
light-weight insulation boards, hydraulic engineering, construction 
industry. - Baroque church (1706-1732) by J. Prandtauer and J. 
Munggenast, high altar (1755) and pulpit (1757) by M. Hefele, 
altarpiece sculptures (1752-1756) by J. Schletterer, miracle-working 
representation of the Holy Trinity (1614), ceiling frescoes by D. Gran 
(1738-1743), side-altar paintings by M. J. Schmidt (1767), 
sculptures by J. G. Dorfmeister (1768), confessionals in Rococo 
style, treasury with goldsmithery products, sacristy chest (1681); 
chapel near Tuerkenbruendl (1745).
