Social Law comprises legislative measures which provide for various 
life situations such as old age, illness and unemployment. Its main 
instrument is  Social Insurance which is based on an insurance scheme 
system and is basically financed from contributions paid jointly by 
the community of insured persons. Pensions support schemes such as 
pension schemes for war victims and victims of crime are financed from 
tax revenue. Welfare benefits ( Social Assistance) are granted 
depending on a person's situation and the degree of need.
