Sprenger, Paul, b. Zagan, Poland (then Sagan), Aug. 20, 1798, 
d. Vienna, Oct. 29, 1854, architect. Student of P. v.  
Nobile at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, 1828 professor; 1842 head 
of public works. His use of raw brick and terra-cotta decorations was 
taken over by the architects of monumental buildings on Vienna´s 
Ringstrasse.

Vienna: Muenze Oesterreich, 1835-1838; Central Customs Office, 
1840-1844; former Finance Ministry, 1841-1847 (with F. Bauer); Court 
Chamber Archive, 1843/1844; building of the Provincial Government of 
Lower Austria, 1846-1848; the base of the church 
Altlerchenfelderkirche, 1848; Augustinian church (church tower), 
1849-1852; Greek Uniate Church (façade), 1852. - Upper Austria: 
Saltworks building in Ebensee, 1836-1838; Central Customs Office in 
Linz, 1857/1858 (constructed according to his plans).- Train stations 
in Hungary.
