St. Thomas am Blasenstein, Upper Austria, market town in the 
district of Perg, alt. 723 m, pop. 911, area 
29.03 km%%sup 2/%, farming community in the south-eastern 
Muehlviertel region. Nearby is "Blasenstein", a granite 
object with "Bucklwehluckn" hole: according to legend 
whoever can fit himself through the opening will be cured of all back 
pain. Gothic pillared basilica with three naves, redone in the Baroque 
style in the 17%%sup th/%  century, late Gothic relief and statues, 
crucifixion (1520), in the crypt is a "luftg´selchter 
Pfarrer" ("air-cured preacher") (d. 1746, mummified body).
