National Borders: The total length of Austria´s national borders 
comes to 2,706.4 km; Austria shares borders of 815.9 km with 
Germany, 166.3 km with Switzerland, 35 km with 
Liechtenstein, 430 km with Italy, 330 km with Slovenia, 
356.4 km with Hungary, 106.7 km with Slovakia and 
466.1 km with the Czech Republic. The federal provinces also have 
quite different shares of the national border: Burgenland 
397.4 km, Carinthia 279.7 km, Lower Austria 414.3 km, 
Upper Austria 320.8 km, Salzburg 173.9 km, Styria 
145.3 km, Tirol 718.9 km and Vorarlberg 256.1 km. 
Vienna is the only federal province that does not form part of the 
national border with any foreign country.
