!!!Staatsregierung, Provisorische

State Government, Provisional, provisional Austrian government founded 
under the chairmanship of Karl  Renner in Vienna on April 27, 1945, at 
first recognised only by the Soviet Union. It was composed of equal 
numbers of members of the Oesterreichische Volkspartei (Austrian 
People's Party, OeVP), Sozialdemokratische Partei Oesterreichs 
(Austrian Social Democratic Party, SPOe) and Kommunistische Partei 
Oesterreichs (Austrian Communist Party, KPOe). Was enlarged by 
representatives of the western provinces on September 26; also 
recognised by the western allies on October 19, 1945; conducted the 
elections of November 25, 1945 and ended when the new Federal 
Government was established on December 20, 1945.
