Linz, Upper Austria, Jan. 1, 1631, President of the Hofkammer (court treasury). Studied at several universities (Tuebingen, Strasbourg, Padua, Siena), held administrative offices: from 1606 President of the Hofkammer. Played a leading role in the Protestant movement (1608 and 1619/1620), was arrested as "principal rebel" in 1621. Was responsible for recruiting J.
