Styrian Railways: Styria is the only Austrian province that still runs
railway lines of its own; these lines were either constructed or taken
over by the Styrian Railways from 1890. 46 km of the total network are
standard gauge railway lines: Gleisdorf-Weiz, Peggau-Uebelbach
(electric) and Feldbach-Gleichenberg (electric), 109 km (formerly
162 km) are narrow gauge railways: Murtalbahn railway
Unzmarkt-Tamsweg (Province of Salzburg, passenger traffic and freight
transport; up to Mauterndorf only Museum Train),
Kapfenberg-Seebach-Turnau (now only freight transport),
Mixnitz-St. Erhard (now only freight transport), Weiz-Anger
(freight transport and Museum Train run as an individual company by
Styrian Railways, formerly from Birkfeld and up to Ratten);
Preding-Stainz (now only Museum Train of the municipality of Stainz).
The Styrian Railways also run some bus lines based in Murau, Weiz,
Kapfenberg and Feldbach as well as a travel agency in Murau.
