b. Vienna, June 24, 1933, lawyer. Studied law in Vienna, became a 
judge in 1959 and public prosecutor in 1963. Began to work at the 
Supreme Court of Justice in 1973, 1994-1998 its president. Since 1982 
has been honorary professor of criminal law and the code of criminal 
procedure at Vienna University.
