Steinmayr, Johann, b. Gsies (South Tyrol), Sept. 25, 1890,
d. Brandenburg (Germany, executed), Sept. 18, 1944, Jesuit
priest. Worked in pastoral care (especially with families and male
adults) in Innsbruck, head of the ´Eucharist League of
Nations´. Arrested by the Gestapo 1943 and condemned to death
for "weakening the power to fight" (Wehrkraftzersetzung) by the
"People´s Court" (Volksgerichtshof) in Berlin 1944.P>
