Steinwender, Eduard (Angelus), b. Maria Lankowitz (Styria), March
14, 1895, d. Stein an der Donau (Lower Austria), April 15,
1945, priest, Franciscan monk. Lived and worked in Graz, Sankt Poelten
and Vienna, from 1939 Provincial of his order; 1944 sentenced to death
along with seven others (e.g. A. Granig, J. K. Pieller) for
alleged anti-National-Socialist propaganda and shot by the SS shortly
before the end of the war.
