Stetter, Georg, b. Vienna, Dec. 23, 1895, 
d. Vienna, July 14, 1988, physicist; university professor, from 
1953 head of the 1st Department of Physics of the University of 
Vienna. Constructed a "technical device for generating energy by means 
of nuclear fission", for which he obtained a patent in Berlin in 1939 
(and in Austria in 1961), but which was never utilized.
