Stillfried von Rathenitz, Raimund, b. Chomutov, Czech Republic (then Komotau), Aug. 6, 1839, 
d. Vienna, Aug. 12, 1911, officer, painter and photographer. 1863 
withdrew from the army, travelled several times to China, Japan and 
America. Leading photographer in Japan around 1870 (portraits, genre 
pictures and landscapes), 1878 head of the state-owned printing firm 
in Tokyo. 1883 returned to Vienna.
