b. Vienna, Oct. 14, 1922, electrical engineer. Studied electrical 
engineering at Vienna University of Technology, in the employ of AEG 
company from 1950 to 1957 and of the Verbundgesellschaft national grid 
company from 1957 to 1970 (ultimately as head of the department of 
power line operations and protective and control engineering). From 
1970 to 1990 Professor for Electrical Plant at Vienna University of 
Technology, from 1988 to 1990 also head of the Department of 
Electrical Plant and High-Voltage Engineering.
