Krems an der Donau (Bezirk), alt. 217 m, pop. 1,402, area 
22.50 km%%sup 2/%, wine-growing town at the south foot of 
Manhartsberg hill, east of Langenlois. - Wineries and wine taverns, 
barrel-making, viniculture museum, summer tourism. - Early Baroque 
parish church (1638-1646 and 1666) with exterior frescoes on the 
Loreto chapel (1666); pillory (17%%sup th/%  century); ruins of 
Falkenberg fortress.
