Straffner, Sepp, b. Bad Goisern (Upper Austria), Jan. 31, 1875, 
d. Bad Goisern (Upper Austria), Oct. 29, 1952, law graduate and 
Pan-German politician, employee of the Federal Railways; member of the 
Constituent National Assembly 1919/20 and member of the Nationalrat 
1920-1923, 1927-1930 and 1930-1934; 3rd President of the Nationalrat 
1930-1931 and 1932/33; his resignation from this function together 
with the other two presidents of the Nationalrat, K.  Renner and R.  
Ramek, in a parliamentary vote on March 4, 1933, enabled the 
government under  Dollfuss to bypass Parliament and establish an 
authoritarian regime ( Corporate State).
