Stransky, Ferdinand, b. Sankt Poelten-Viehhofen (Lower Austria), Sept. 16, 1904, 
d. Katzelsdorf (Lower Austria), Sept. 30, 1981, painter. 1919-1923 
studied art restoration at the Vienna College of Fine Arts, after 1945 
significant work as painter and graphic artist. 1946-1952 and from 
1969 member of the artists´ association "Wiener Secession", in 
the interval member of the group "Der Kreis"; is considered one of the 
last representatives of Austrian expressionism.
