Strasser, Otto, b. Vienna, Aug. 13, 1901, 
d. Sommerein (Lower Austria), May 27, 1996, violin player. From 1922 
in the orchestra of the Vienna State Opera, from 1923 member of the 
Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, from 1932 on their administrative 
board, 1939-1940 general manager, 1940-1941 Vice-President and 
1958-1967 President of the  Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. In 
addition, member of the Weissgaerber Quartett, Schneiderhan Quartett, 
Barylli Quartett and Philharmonisches Quartett; Honorary President of 
the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
