Strobl, province of Salzburg, municipality in the district of 
Salzburg-Umgebung, alt. 542 m, pop. 3,141, area 
93.88 km%%sup 2/%, summer tourism (278,847 overnight stays), 
bathing resort at the eastern end of Lake Wolfgangsee, in the 
Salzkammergut district; ship landing stage. Postalm (largest alpine 
pasture in Austria) and Laimeralm alpine pastures; 
"Kleefeld" game park. - Schloss Strobl mud bath, vacation 
home of the Energie AG Upper Austrian power services, youth 
guesthouse, summer tobogganing course, pumping station; building 
trade, chalk quarry, wood-working industry. - Late-Baroque parish 
church (1758/59), high altar (1760) with carved statues by S. Eberl, 
altar piece by P. A. Lorenzoni; residences from the late 
Historicist period; Einhof type farmhouses (mainly 18%%sup th/%  - 
19%%sup th/%  centuries).
