tourism (57,668 overnight stays, mainly in the summer), located north 
of the River Salzach, in the Oberpinzgau region. - Leisure centre; 
Burgwies Spa with acratic calcium-magnesium-sodium-hydrogen 
carbonate-sulfur spring (private, exploited since the 15%%sup th/%  
century); sawmill. - Romanesque deanery church (original parish of the 
Pinzgau region, first documented mention 963) with Gothic choir and 
west tower and Romanesque portal (mid-13%%sup th/%  century), marble 
high altar (1783) by W. Hagenauer with late-Gothic miracle-working 
painting (1470-80); Lichtenau Castle (1506, school); Lambach Castle 
(first documented mention 1352, alterations 1591); old log farmhouses 
(16%%sup th/%  century core).
