Suben, Upper Austria, municipality in the district of Schaerding, alt. 
329 m, pop. 1,287, area 6.40 km%%sup 2/%, located on the 
River Inn south of Schaerding, border crossing to Bavaria with customs 
office, Schaerding-Stuben airport; shipping businesses. - Monastery of 
the Augustinian Canons Regular (founded in 1126, built 1679-1709, 
suspended in 1784, used as a prison since 1865); parish church (former 
collegiate church), a masterpiece of Austrian Rococo (the originally 
Romanesque basilica was completely rebuilt by S. Frey 1766-1770), 
Romanesque tower, magnificent Rococo interior with frescoes and 
paintings by J. J. Zeiller (1768-1770).
