Suchenwirt, Peter, b. around 1320, 
d. after 1395, knight-errant (his name "such den Wirt" means: "search 
the inn-keeper"), Austrian rhymester, from 1372 at the court of 
Vienna. Served Duke Albrecht III on his journey to Prussia 1377. 
Used religious themes, historical and political events (decline of the 
age of chivalry) and topics with a moral message (greed, passion for 
gambling); important representative of heraldic literature, wrote 
hymns of praise for noble patrons and knights interpreting their coats 
of arms.
