Sunjic, Melita, b. Zagreb (Croatia), Dec. 1, 1955, political 
scientist. Studied in Vienna, then was employed by the newspaper 
"Wiener Zeitung" as editor and department head; since 1993 
head of the department of public relations of the UN High Commissioner 
for Refugees (UNHCR). Lecturer in journalism and political science at 
the University of Vienna. Awarded the Bruno Kreisky Prize in 1995 for 
her book "Echte Oesterreicher".
