!!!Szyszkowitz, Gerald

b. Graz (Styria), July 22, 1938, writer, stage director and 
translator. Apart from his university studies (drama, German language 
and literature) worked as assistant director for W.  Forst; during the 
1960s, mostly at German theatres. Moved to Vienna and 1973-1994 
managed the main entertainment division of the Austrian broadcasting 
corporation (ORF). 1981 published his 1st novel "Der Thaya", in which 
he described the social changes that had occurred since the monarchy, 
following his own family history. His later books also refer to 
historical and contemporary events.
