!!!Tauschinski, Hippolyt

b. Vienna, Sept. 9, 1839, 
d. Vienna, Feb. 28, 1905, historian, librarian; pioneer of the Labour 
Movement, journalist; lecturer at the Universities of Vienna and Graz, 
published critical editions of the Codex Strahoviensis and the deeds 
of the monastery of Altenburg; engaged in the Labour Movement from 
1868. 1871 founded the religious community "Gemeinde der Botschaft". 
Set up the Social Democratic Party in Neudoerfl 1874 and became its 
first chairman. Was taken to court for organising a party convention 
to be held in Marchegg on May 16/17, 1875. After his exclusion from 
the Labour Movement continued as journalist in Vienna.
