b. Vienna, Feb. 27, 1877, 
d. Vienna, Jan. 19, 1920, satirist, narrative writer and educator. 
1903-1905 assistant at the Zoological Station in Trieste (Italy), 
1905-1907 teacher in Trieste, from 1907 at the secondary school 
"Staatsrealschule Kufstein" (Tirol); 1910 removed from this post and 
transferred to Prostejov, Moravia (then Prossnitz), from 1914 in 
retirement due to bad health. 1909 published a collection of trenchant 
satires under the title "Fern von Europa. Tirol ohne Maske", which 
triggered off a massive campaign against him as a traitor of his 
country; was eventually forced to leave Tirol.
