b. Kleinriedenthal (municipality of Retz, Lower Austria), July 31, 1886, 
d. Herrnbaumgarten (Lower Austria), April 20, 1946, adult educator, 
priest. 1929-1938 director of the first state-run adult education 
centre for the rural population "Baeuerliches Volksbildungsheim" in 
Hubertendorf (Lower Austria), which aimed at teaching people to cope 
with every day problems, at fostering community spirit and character 
development. In this function he exercised considerable influence on 
international goals of education work in rural environment 
("Hubertendorf Principles") as well as on recruiting rural community 
interest groups in Austria.
