d. Graz (Styria), July 10, 1966, farmer and politician ("Landbund", 
Austrian People's Party/OeVP). From 1919 member of the Landtag of 
Styria; 1948 member of the provincial government of Styria. 1930-1934, 
1953, 1956-1957 and 1959-1962 member of the Nationalrat, 1952-1959 
Federal Minister of Agriculture and Forestry.
