d. Bezau, Feb. 19, 1690, master builder; brother of Christian  Thumb 
and father of Peter  Thumb. First important master of the  Vorarlberg 
School; for some time collaborated with his brother Christian as well 
as M.  Beer and F.  Beer von Blaichten.

Dominican monastery of Thalbach in Bregenz, 1674-77; shrine on 
Schoenenberg mountain near Ellwangen (Germany), 1682/83.
