d. Vienna, July 28, 1969, composer, organist, musicologist. As of 1936 
teacher of theory of music (1954 lecturer, 1961 professor) at the 
Vienna Musikhochschule*; Wrote especially church music; famous for his 
revised edition of the "Gradus ad Parnassum" ("Der neue Gradus", 1959) 
by J. J. Fux. 1952 Austrian State Prize.
