Tragoess, Styria, municipality in the district of Bruck an der Mur, 
alt. 793 m, pop. 1,157, 
area 110.53 km%%sup 2/%, summer resort (31,820 overnight 
stays); the settlement is widely scattered over a wide mountain area 
situated in the Tragoess Valley at the end of the Lamingtal Valley 
beneath the southern face of the Hochschwab mountain, consisting of 
the cadastral municipalities of Oberort, Schattenberg and Sonnberg. - 
In Oberort: partly Romanesque and late Gothic parish church with choir 
and side chapels by P. F. Carlone (1658), frescoes (14%%sup th/%  
and 15%%sup th/%  centuries), beautiful altar of the Virgin Mary 
(1662) by L. Prandstetter and late Gothic crucifix (around 1500); late 
Gothic rectory with Baroque lenten veil; St. Antonius chapel 
(1518 and 1524).
