Traisen, Lower Austria, market town in the district of Lilienfeld, 
alt. 356 m, pop. 3,643, 
area 6.79 km%%sup 2/%. Traisen is situated in the Traisen 
Valley near the confluence of the rivers Traisen and Goelsen. - 
Volksheim community centre, Scheibmuehl hydroelectric power station, 
EVN district office, sport facilities; industry and trade: steel and 
casting foundry, transport and building trade. - Baroque subsidiary 
church (late 17%%sup th/%  century, destroyed in 1945, 
reconstruction until 1948), new parish church (1961/1962).
