Transit Agreement, instrument signed by Austria and the European Union 
in 1992. It deals with goods traffic ( Transit Traffic) on rail and 
road and aims at a 60% reduction of environmental pollution produced 
by trucks on Austrian transit routes by the year 2004. This is to be 
achieved by an "eco-points" system; the system applies to 
lorries with a weight of more than 7.5 tonnes.
