Transleithania (Latin for "land on the other side of the Leitha 
River"), unofficial name for Hungary in the time of the 
Austro-Hungarian monarchy (1867-1918); the counterpart to 
Transleithania was  Cisleithania (Latin for "land on this side of 
the Leitha River").
