!!!Transplantationschirurgie

Grafting, Surgical (transplantation surgery), the transplantation of
cells, tissues or organs obtained from living or dead donors. Since
the first successful heart transplant by C. Barnard in 1967, surgical
grafting has been among those branches of medicine which have
attracted the most public attention, and one which has taken a
breathtaking development. In Austria, the medical schools of the
Universities of Innsbruck and Vienna have gained particular renown
under R. Margreiter and E. Wolner. While Austria has not yet enacted
comprehensive legislation governing grafting practice, the removal of
organs from dead donors was regulated by law in 1972. P>
