Oath of Allegiance, a solemn declaration made by every Austrian 
soldier who has completed the first part of basic military training: 
"I hereby vow to protect and defend with arms my fatherland, the 
Republic of Austria and her people; I vow to be loyal and obedient to 
the law and to the constitutional authorities, to follow all orders of 
my superiors promptly and precisely, and to serve the Republic of 
Austria and the Austrian nation to the full extent of my 
ability."
