d. Vienna, Oct. 16, 1988, geographer, guest lecturer in Bangkok 
(1956-1958) and Hamburg (1965), from 1966 university professor in 
Vienna, 1972-1973 Dean of the Philosophical Faculty; undertook 
numerous research trips to the Middle East and South West Asia; 
research mainly on population geography.
