UNIDO, United Nations Industrial Development Organization. 
Headquarters in Vienna; founded as an autonomous organisation of the 
UN in 1966. Focuses on financing and implementing industrial projects. 
Austria's contributions in 1994 amounted to 
10.1 million ATS. The UNIDO Industrial Development Fund 
(IDF) supports special development projects, for which Austria 
contributed about 30 million ATS in 1994. The UNIDO 
Investment Promotion Office in Vienna acts as a liaison agency and 
finances selected projects in less developed countries.
