Umbal Valley, East Tyrol, name of the uppermost section of  Virgen 
Valley; reaches from Umbalkees glacier (source of the River  Isel) to 
Umbalfaelle waterfalls situated near Pebellalm mountain 
(1,509 m). A power station project that would have jeopardised 
the waterfalls was not realised because of protests.
