University Sports: Since 1960 the "Zentrale 
Hochschulsportausschuss" ("Central University Sports Committee") 
has co-ordinated all the institutions (Universitaets-Sportinstitut, 
Oesterreichische Hochschuelerschaft/Austrian National Union of 
Students, academic authorities, etc.). involved in university sports. 
Its main tasks are preparing the Austrian academic championships and 
participation in international events ("Universiade"); presided over 
by the Federal Ministry for Science, Research and Art.
