b. Linz (Upper Austria), July 9, 1893, 
d. Geneva (Switzerland), Nov. 4, 1974, author of novels and 
narratives, translator, journalist. In 1933 initiated the division of 
the Austrian  P. E. N.-Club; in her work she dared to deal with female 
homosexuality.
