Vasovec, Ernst, b. Mohlnice nad Jizerou, Czech Republic (then Mueglitz an der March), Sept. 21, 1917, 
d. Vienna, Dec. 14, 1993, narrative writer, poet, school teacher. In 
his main piece of work, the excessively historical and philosophical 
novel trilogy "Der Stein des Sisyphos" (1969), "Sodom oder das 
Vorbestimmte und das Zugefuegte" (1978) and "Vom Ende der Welt" 
(1981), he combines contemporary Austrian history with elements from 
classical antiquity and Bible mythology.
