Veith, Johann Emanuel, b. Chodova Planá, Czech Republic (then Kuttenplan), July 10, 1787, 
d. Vienna, Nov. 6, 1876, physician, clergyman, renowned religious and 
medical author. 1816-1820 Professor and Director of the Vienna 
Veterinary Institute, 1821-1830 redemptionist, then world priest, 
1832-1845 preacher at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna. In 1848 
founded the Austrian Catholic Association.

Medical papers, narratives, poems, plays, homiletics, sermons, 
psalm translations. - Editor of numerous religious magazines and 
pocket books.
