Federation of Austrian Industry (Vereinigung der Oesterreichischen 
Industrie, Industriellenvereinigung, official name until 1996, 
Vereinigung Oesterreichischer Industrieller), founded in 1946, 
represents the interests of Austrian industry, voluntary membership 
(around 4000 members); co-operation with other professional business 
organisations. Organisations: central office and regional office for 
Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland in Vienna, regional offices in 
the capitals of all the other provinces. Organs: Board of Presidents, 
managing board and plenary assembly, as well as committees (for 
example for economic and social policy, fiscal, financial and 
educational matters, foreign trade, transport, etc.).
