d. Baden (Lower Austria), May 24, 1993, archeologist. Numerous 
excavations in Austria, including Lauriacum, Salzburg, Carnuntum and 
on Magdalensberg (Carinthia); 1969-1985 University Professor in 
Vienna. Director of the Austrian Archeological Institute, 
vice-president of the Austrian Academy of Sciences for many years.
