Virgen Valley. - Hill settlement from the Bronze and Iron Ages near 
Obermauern (smelting of copper ore); cremation graves of the Hallstatt 
Culture in Welzelach; Gothic and Baroque parish church (consecrated in 
1516, enlarged and altered in the Baroque style in 1784/85, altars 
from 1840 to 1844); Rabenstein castle ruin (built in the 12%%sup th/%  
century, one of the highest castles in the Tyrol, in a state of 
dilapidation since 1703); 2 wayside shrines (around 1450-1460); town  
Obermauern.
