Virgen Valley, East Tyrol, valley along the upper reaches of the River 
 Isel, from Hinterbichl (1,329 m) to the confluence of the Tauern 
stream and the Isel near Matrei in Osttirol (975 m). Upstream of 
the Virgen Valley the valley is named Umbal Valley, downstream it is 
named Isel Valley; Venediger mountains to the north, Lasoerling 
mountains to the south, Isel gorge east of Praegraten, main towns: 
Praegraten (1,309 m), Obermauern (1,303 m) and Virgen 
(1,194 m).
